The Cities
The Cities formed in 2004, sort of... Joel & Nick would jam on songs every so often at Nick's house. Joel would then send demos of the songs to Luke in WA, to which Luke would add bass parts and other embelishments. Very slowly the songs started to take shape.
Things started progressing a bit faster in 2006. The Cities received a grant from Arts Tasmania to fund the recording of their debut EP, "Unity", in 2007.
Whilst The Cities were recording the EP they submitted a demo version of "Unity" into SeaFMs Opening Act competition. Competing against 75 other bands, The Cities won the prize of opening for Powderfinger & Silverchair at their Hobart show on the Across the Great Divide Tour in September 07.
The Cities asked talented guitarist Jed Pickett to jump on the keyboards to complete the line up. The show was a huge success and The Cities had their first gig under their belt.
The band are currently scouting for management and label representation, and can be contacted on: us@the-cities.com
The Cities plan to make 2008 even more eventful than 2007. Keep checking back for more news...
